Value-Based Test Case Prioritization for Regression Testing Using Genetic Algorithms

Test Case Prioritization (TCP) techniques perform better than other regression test optimization including Suite Reduction (TSR) and Selection (TCS). Many TCP are available, their performance is usually measured through a metric Average Percentage of Fault Detection (APFD). This value-neutral because it only works well when all cases have the same cost, faults severity. Using APFD for evaluation case orders where cost or severity varies prone to produce false results. Therefore, using right very important get reliable correct In this paper, two value-based been introduced Genetic Algorithm (GA) Value-Cognizant Detection-Based (VCFDB-TCP) Requirements Coverage-Based (VCRCB-TCP). Two novel metrics also per value (APFDv) Coverage (APRCv). studies performed validate proposed metrics. The GA-based outperformed existing state-of-the-art Original Order (OO), Reverse (REV-O), Random (RO), Greedy algorithm.
